Auditory Stream Notes
From KubovyLab
- Audio streams:
- Left Channel
- Right Channel
- [Both Channel]
- Each stream is a sequence of three stimulus types, each of fixed duration.
- high pitch sound
- low pitch sound
- broadband noise
- Average time between stimuli is fixed.
- Actual time between stimuli varies according to a uniform distribution (between 90 to 290 ms) [90-390ms and should be variable, Minhong]
- Response: user searches for a specific stimulus type in stream.
- User is told before hand what stimulus to search for.
- User presses button/key when stimulus is heard
- Record correct or not
- Considered correct if within window (1000ms) [200-1000ms] after stimulus [after stimulus onset time].
- Record offset from actual playback time.
- Also record non-responses (after response window).
- Record correct or not
- Trial definition:
- Number of tones of each type
- [
- interval range between two stimuli (offset to onset, e.g. 90-390ms)
- if could, number of tones type, e.g. 4 tones and 1 noise, or 9 tones 1 noise, or 4 tones 2 noise
- ]
